2024 was a good year

A photo of the northern lights in red and green with the Big Dipper as a guest star.

2024 was indeed a good year, at least for skygazing. It started with a total solar eclipse in April, followed by northern light sightings in May and October, and there was also a comet sighting in the mix. All could be seen a short drive away from home. Very convenient indeed.

This year has been really quiet in comparison. But then again, 2025 hasn't been a stellar year in general with all the crazy stupid things going on in the world. Any major celestial event would be very welcome at this point. Yes, that includes a large meteor hurling towards the Earth lol.

Seriously. If I could time travel, I wouldn't mind going back to 2024. It was a very eventful, memorable year. And mostly in a good way, except for the fact that whathisface was elected president again. That really put a damper to it, and to just about anything. That turd.
