Bring back the blogs

I don't know what others think about this, but from my experience as an early 2000 blogger, personal blogs died because the search engine traffic died (thanks, Google algorithm) and most people didn't feel like screaming into the void. Finding audience on Twitter was so much easier. Writing short, mindless posts/microblogging was also so much easier than writing a proper blog post. Why bother with a blog?

However, Twitter as we knew it is a distant memory now and Bluesky is pretty much a loud, doomscrolling arena. With all the crazy things going on in this crazy world, I actually find screaming into the void cathartic . Hopefully I'm not the only one who feels that way and that it means the return of personal blogs. Fingers crossed? I'm really looking forward to reading about everyone's mundane, day-to-day routines again, and I'm not even being sarcastic.

Reading the news feed is so depressing these days. Reading personal blogs would be a form of escapism and would help keep our sanity intact. Please, pretty please, start blogging about your life again?
