One of my favourite things about film photography was the ability to do a double exposure. It's where you take two shots on the same frame on the film. Ideally, there would be some planning involved. One shot would have to be somewhat dark and the other one light. I usually just shot whatever and see how it turned out.
This project is a bit like the latter. I just used some of my favourite photos that I took during this past Canadian Thanksgiving weekend up at the cottage. The faux double exposure effect is created using the magic of CSS opacity and a bit of PHP to randomize the photos.
Much like the real thing, some of the combos kind of work aesthetically, some others not so much. I'm just happy that I managed to make the concept I had in my head into reality, crappy as it might be. Click on the photo to see another faux double exposure. There should be 16 of them in total.
